About Us

A Kampala-based team planning private, tailor-made safaris across six East African countries.

Adorable Safaris East Africa is a Kampala-based team that plans private, tailor-made trips across Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Zanzibar and Ethiopia. Every itinerary on this site is a starting point rather than a fixed package, and most of what we send travellers ends up rewritten at least once before it matches what they actually want.

Who We Are

We work out of Kampala and spend our time between the desk and the parks we sell, checking routes, road conditions and lodge standards rather than relying on old notes. The site carries 120 ready-made itineraries across 50 destinations and 40 experiences, and we treat each one as a draft: a sensible starting route that a planner adjusts once they know who is actually travelling.

We are not a call centre reading from a script. A named planner picks up your enquiry, works the itinerary with you by email, and stays on it through booking, permits and the trip itself. If you write back three times with three different questions, you are talking to the same person each time, not restarting with someone new.

Most of what we do is coordination: matching the right park to the right season, the right lodge to the right budget, and the right number of driving hours to what a group can actually tolerate. None of that is glamorous, but it is the difference between an itinerary that reads well on paper and one that works on the road.

How a Trip With Us Comes Together

It starts with an enquiry: which countries, how many days, who is coming, what you want more or less of. We reply within one working day with a draft itinerary built around that, priced honestly rather than padded to look impressive.

From there it is a back-and-forth. You tell us what to change, we adjust the route, the pace, the lodges or the budget, and send a revised version. Once you are happy, we lock in permits and bookings, which for gorilla trekking and busy lodges often means moving quickly, since permits are issued on a first-paid basis. On the ground, your driver-guide and the lodges already have your final itinerary, so the trip runs the way it was planned rather than being re-explained at every stop.

Where We Travel

We plan across Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Zanzibar and Ethiopia, and we are happy to combine them: gorilla trekking in Uganda or Rwanda added to a Kenya or Tanzania safari, or a beach stretch in Zanzibar tacked onto the end of a longer trip. Cross-border logistics, land borders, connecting flights and which visa covers which leg, are part of what a planner works out with you, not something left for you to untangle later.

Our Vehicles and Driver-Guides

Safaris run in private 4×4 vehicles with pop-up roofs, driven by English-speaking driver-guides who know the parks and the roads into them. The vehicle is yours for the trip: no sharing with other groups unless you specifically want a joint departure to bring the cost down. Your driver-guide is also your main point of contact once you are on the road, the person who reads the weather, judges whether a track is passable after rain, and knows where the animals tend to be at that time of year.

For itineraries that cross several countries, we also arrange the light aircraft connections that cut long road transfers down to a manageable hop, and we tell you plainly where a road transfer makes more sense than a flight.

How We Price a Trip

Every quote states what is included and what is not. Permits, park fees, accommodation, the vehicle and driver-guide are usually in; international flights, visas, tips and drinks usually are not, and we say so on the quote rather than burying it in fine print. If a price looks unusually low next to similar itineraries elsewhere, ask what has been left out. We would rather lose a booking than have you find the gap on the ground.

Prices move with real costs: park fees, fuel and exchange rates change during the year, and a quote reflects what those cost at the time we build it. We flag any change before it affects a booking you have already confirmed, rather than adjusting the total after the fact.

If any of this sounds like the kind of planning you want, tell us what you are after and a planner will reply within one working day.
