Most travellers pass through Kigali on the way to something else. This tour asks you to stay a day and look at the city itself – the hills it’s built across, the order of its streets, the weight of its history.
The Kigali Genocide Memorial is the centre of the day and we don’t rush it. You’re free to spend as long as you need in the gardens afterwards before moving on to lighter ground: the craft cooperatives, Kimironko Market, a coffee stop with a view over the city. It’s a good way to arrive or leave with some understanding of the place beyond the airport.
Park fees and gorilla permits in Rwanda are set by the Rwanda Development Board.
